Thomas Crawford University of Tasmania Merit Scholarship

The Thomas Crawford University of Tasmania Merit Scholarship is provided through the generous bequest to the University by the late Thomas A Crawford. Thomas was an American citizen who came to Tasmania in the 1960’s to study at the University in Hobart. His gift to the University will provide opportunities for Tasmanian, interstate and other school leavers demonstrating academic excellence and need in Years 11 and 12 to study a diverse range of academic disciplines at the University of Tasmania.

 

Eligibility

Available to Tasmanian and interstate school leavers who are Australian citizens or citizens of the one of the following countries: Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom, or the United States of America, who will be receiving a tertiary entrance score in 2022 or received a tertiary entrance score in 2021, and will be commencing full-time study in any academic area of study at the University of Tasmania in the first half of 2023. Selection for this scholarship will be based on excellent achievement in studies in Years 11 and 12 and a high tertiary entrance score, or equivalent International Baccalaureate. Quality of written application may also be taken into consideration.

On-going Eligibility

To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.

Up to five years (does not include separate one-year Honours course)
