Scholarships & Bursaries

This scholarship is provided from the estate of the late Dr Vivian Barlow, who spent the final years of his life in Tasmania and wished to assist medical students with the costs of accommodation.

Available to a student commencing the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in Semester 1, 2023 and who will need to move away from home in order to undertake the course. Selection will be based on academic merit and financial need. The award cannot be held with any other University of Tasmania scholarship.

To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.

$3,000 per year

Up to four years

Applicants who apply for Support to Study will be automatically assessed for this award.
