Scholarships & Bursaries

This bursary is provided by the Burnie City Council to support a commencing student from the Burnie municipality.

Available to a student from the Burnie municipality commencing study in an undergraduate degree course at the University of Tasmania in the first half of 2023. Applicants must have lived in the Burnie Municipality for at least the past two years who shows financial need. Preference will be given to a student who is commencing study at the Cradle Coast campus in Burnie. In accordance with the Council’s Education Bursaries and Awards Policy, applicants must not have completed tertiary study previously.

To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.

$5,000 per year

Up to three years

Applicants who apply for Support to Study will be automatically assessed for this award.
