Scholarships & Bursaries

This scholarship is generously supported by the Tasmanian Branch of the Australian Medical Association. The AMA (Tas Branch) provides a vital role in servicing the professional needs of medical practitioners throughout the State. By their own constitution, the AMA (Tas Branch) are also 'the' prime body in Tasmania representing the interests of our patients and the whole community on health issues.

Awarded to a student in their fourth year of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine who is proceeding to Elective term (selection based on proven financial need and quality of submission). Awarded to one student only per year.

Applicants will be required to outline their reasons for financial need, give a place for the proposed elective, benefits of the elective for the applicants (including career aspirations) and the host institution, costs of the elective (including travel, accommodation, fees).
