South32’s Tasmanian Electro Metallurgical Company (TEMCO) is a ferroalloy smelter located 50 kilometres north of Launceston at Bell Bay on the coast of Tasmania, Australia. South32 is a globally diversified metals and mining company. It produces bauxite, alumina, aluminium energy and metallurgical coal, manganese, nickel, silver, lead and zinc in Australia, Southern Africa and South America. TEMCO produces high-carbon ferromanganese, silicomanganese and sinter and remains the only manganese ferroalloy plant in Australia. The TEMCO Community Foundation provided a significant gift to support several scholarships at the University of Tasmania.
Eligibility
Available to a student who will be continuing study in the Bachelor of Business. Preference will be given to applicants who are studying predominantly at the Newnham campus. Selection will be based on academic merit.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a Distinction average across units studied each semester.
