The University of Tasmania's School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology is offering two scholarships in 2021 to encourage Pharmacy students to undertake an individual Honours project during the third and fourth years of the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours degree. While all students in the Bachelor of Pharmacy with Applied Honours will participate in group-based clinical research projects, an individual research-focussed Honours program is also available as an optional overload for students who wish to pursue a PhD. An individual Honours project with a significant thesis component is required for entry into a PhD program. There are increasing opportunities for Pharmacy graduates to undertake research in the discipline and considerable demand for graduates with the advanced skills which Honours study develops. The School itself offers a range of interesting projects, ranging from laboratory sciences to clinical studies, for students to investigate as part of their Honours research.
