This scholarship is generously provided by the Rotary Club of Burnie.
Eligibility
Available to a student enrolling in year 4 of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery course at the University of Tasmania’s Rural Clinical School in 2022. Applicants must be intending to complete their final two years of study with the RCS; demonstrate an interest in rural medicine; undertake a General Practice attachment in Burnie as part of the curriculum in their penultimate year of study; commit to being involved with the Rotary Club of Burnie, through regular attendance at club meetings as a guest member, and/or participating in the Club’s community service activities. In addition, present occasional reports on their progress to Rotary Club meetings. Should students not progress to fourth year, applications received will be automatically withdrawn.
On-going Eligibility
To retain eligibility for this scholarship you must remain enrolled full-time (100%) in the above course each year and achieve a minimum Pass result in all units each semester.
Amount
$2,500 per year. In addition to the financial support, the Club will provide honorary Club Membership and offer to mentor the recipient during their studies in North-West Tasmania.
