Up to four scholarships are provided by the late Dr Peter Smith to encourage students who intend to enrol in the Bachelor of Science degree and to study the physical sciences of chemistry, mathematics and physics in their first year at university - subjects often designated as the basic or enabling sciences. The scholarships are also open to students who have successfully completed these first year subjects and who intend to major, or are majoring, in at least one of the three disciplines.
Eligibility
Available to students with academic potential who are commencing or continuing in the Bachelor of Science or combined science degree in Semester 1, 2021 and who will be majoring in one or more of the following areas: chemistry, mathematics or physics. Selection will be based on academic merit and financial need. See information sheet for specific details about the award and career pathways that can be achieved through the study of these subjects.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum CREDIT result in all units studied each semester.
