This scholarship is provided by Caterpillar Underground Mining which is the centre for research, design and development for underground hard rock vehicles at its facility in Burnie. Caterpillar Underground Mining is part of a highly successful worldwide organisation which manufactures construction and mining equipment, turbines and power generating plants.
Eligibility
Available to a student who is commencing their third year study in the Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Tasmania, or in a combined degree with engineering. Selection will be based on academic merit and the applicant’s interest in considering the mechanical or electrical engineering streams. Vacation employment opportunities may be available to the recipient at the Caterpillar Underground Mining facility over the summer. This scholarship will support the recipient through Years 3 and 4 of the course.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
