Scholarships & Bursaries

These grants are provided by the College of Health and Medicine to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to study medicine. The Medical Student ‘Aboriginal Entry Application Process’ Funding Scheme Grant is offered to eligible Tasmanian medical students who are part of the University of Tasmania’s ‘Aboriginal Entry Application Process’.

Available to applicants who are applying to study the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2023 through the ‘Aboriginal Entry Application Process’. Applicants must be Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who meet the Commonwealth three-tiered criteria for Aboriginality. This requires that an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent AND identifies as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander AND is accepted as such by the community in which 0he or she lives or has lived.
