Relocation Scholarship for the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies
The Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) is a centre of excellence for both research and education. IMAS’ research is innovative, relevant and globally distinctive. IMAS delivers first-class programs resulting in highly trained scientists and researchers serving the needs of academic institutions, industry, government and the community. These generous scholarships are offered by IMAS to encourage students relocating from interstate, or Tasmanian students who are required to move away from home, to study at IMAS and to assist with relocation expenses.
Available to domestic students relocating from interstate, or Tasmanian students, who are required to relocate to either Hobart or Launceston, who have achieved an Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking (ATAR) of 85 or above, OP8 or above, or IB30 or above in 2018, and who are commencing their first year of study (year 1) in Semester 2, 2019 in the Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science (P3L).
Please note: There are limited places available so achieving the requisite ATAR score does not guarantee a scholarship.
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
$3,000 for Tasmanian residents, $5,000 for interstate students to cover the cost of relocation.
There is no requirement to apply for this scholarship as students will be automatically assessed during the University Admission process, provided places are still available. However, you are invited to submit an application prior to the normal closing date of 30 June 2019 in order to apply for any other scholarships or bursaries for which you may be eligible.
