This scholarship was established by alumna Dr Nancy Alcock-Hood to provide assistance to a Tasmanian student from the north or north-west coast of Tasmania who is commencing a Bachelor level program at the University of Tasmania.
Dr Nancy Alcock-Hood is a retired biochemist who, after moving to the United States, worked for the Rockefeller Institute and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute before accepting a faculty position at the first Medical School, University of Texas. Nancy currently lives in New Hampshire.
Eligibility
Available to an undergraduate student from the north or north-west coast of Tasmania who is commencing studies in a bachelor level program in any of the University’s Colleges or Faculties. Selection will be based on demonstration of academic merit and financial need.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
