This scholarship was established by alumna Dr Nancy Alcock-Hood to provide assistance to a Tasmanian student from the north or north-west coast of Tasmania who is commencing a Bachelor level program at the University of Tasmania.
Dr Nancy Alcock-Hood is a retired biochemist who, after moving to the United States, worked for the Rockefeller Institute and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute before accepting a faculty position at the first Medical School, University of Texas. Nancy currently lives in New Hampshire.
Available to an undergraduate student from the north or north-west coast of Tasmania who is commencing studies in a bachelor level program in any of the University’s Schools or Colleges. Selection will be based on demonstration of academic merit and financial need.
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.

Up to four years
Commencing students will be assessed for this award during the University Admission process.
