Conservatorium of Music Scholarship
The University of Tasmania wishes to support the academic aspirations of students with outstanding musical talent who through their involvement and commitment to music have the capacity to be ambassadors for the University of Tasmania and its commitment to performing arts. Scholarships will be offered to talented musicians across all coursework music programs.
Available to students commencing or continuing an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the Conservatorium of Music in Semester 1, 2020 in any of the following programs: Composition, Performance (Classical), Performance (Jazz and Popular), Musicology and Music History, Music Technology, and Songwriter. Selection will be based on applicants’ playing ability and demonstrated commitment to the study of music.
To retain this award, recipients are required to remain enrolled full time each semester (100 credit points per calendar year), and: a) for all units other than Music Practice units, receive no less than a Credit result for each unit each semester; and b) receive no less than a Distinction result for each Music Practice unit (where applicable).
Domestic applicants will be considered for three types of available scholarship packages:
Package 1 – Course Fees for HECS-eligible courses plus Living Allowance up to $6,000 per year ($750 per 12.5 credit points).
Package 2 – Course Fees for HECS-eligible courses plus Living Allowance up to $4,000 per year ($500 per 12.5 credit points).
Package 3 – Course Fees for HECS-eligible courses.
International applicants or Postgraduate applicants wishing to study Full-Fee Paying (FFP) courses (including F5L Graduate Certificate in Music Studies (Specialisation), F6L Graduate Diploma in Music Studies (Specialisation), F6H Graduate Diploma of Professional Music Practice and F7K Master of Music Studies), may be considered for a partial tuition fee waiver on a case by case basis. Those applicants may also be eligible to be awarded one of the above living allowances.
