Mr Bruce Wall was a significant member of the farming industry in Tasmania. He applied latest methods and practices on his farm, “Lake House” at Cressy and, with his knowledge and experience, he enjoyed success as a breeder of Corriedale sheep, Poll Hereford cattle and commercial cattle. Trustees of the estate of the late Bruce Wall determined that scholarships should be established at the University of Tasmania in his name to assist in the development of talent in Tasmanian students enrolled at the University.
