Funding for this scholarship is generously provided by the estate of the late Hubert Frank Lovett. Mr Lovett was born in Hobart in 1906 and died in 1961. In 1923 he enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering degree at the University of Tasmania, however later withdrew and pursued an interest in business activities becoming the business manager of H F Lovett Pty Ltd. He was also a member of the 2nd Australian Infantry Forces (AIF) in the rank of major. The award is offered as part of the University of Tasmania Access Scholarship scheme.
Eligibility
Available to a student who is commencing or continuing in any undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University in the first half of 2021. Selection will be based on academic merit and demonstration of financial need. Preference may be given to commencing undergraduate students who have to reside away from home in order to attend university or, because of family or other commitments, have to travel a significant distance to attend a university campus.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
