David Paget Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship has been endowed by the colleagues, friends and family of Dr. David Paget for the encouragement of excellence in mathematics. David made a significant contribution to the study of mathematics in Tasmania through his work at the University of Tasmania where he implemented a challenging new first year course for mathematically gifted students and encouraged talented High School students with coaching and maths camps. David became the National Director of Training for Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee and the IMO Team Leader for Australia for several years before he died in 1997. He has a street in Canberra named after him.
