The University of Tasmania is offering a limited number of relocation support packages to assist interstate students with the costs of relocating to Tasmania to attend University. There are several different support packages from which eligible students are able to select.
Available to interstate domestic and NZ students to assist with the costs of relocating to Tasmania to commence full-time study in February 2021 in one of the following: Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree. Honours and postgraduate coursework students who are relocating from interstate specifically to commence their studies at the University of Tasmania for the first time are also eligible to apply.
To retain the relocation allowance (cash payment) component, recipients are required to be enrolled full time (75% study load) in their first study period.
Applicants can select from three types of available support packages:
Option 1: $3,000 relocation allowance (cash payment)
Option 2: $4,000 total: $2,000 relocation allowance (cash payment) plus $2,000 university accommodation subsidy
Option 3: $5,000 total: $1,000 relocation allowance (cash payment) plus $4,000 university accommodation subsidy.
For Options 2 and 3, the university accommodation subsidy component will be paid directly towards first year of the on-campus accommodation costs in a single room at one of the Halls of Residence in either Hobart, Launceston or Cradle Coast. It will be paid directly to Student Living on behalf of the student. To be eligible for the university accommodation subsidy, students must apply for accommodation with Student Living http://www.utas.edu.au/accomm/future-residents/apply and cover the application fee and bond (these costs are NOT covered by this support package).
