The Sure Start scholarship has been established by the Tasmanian Government to encourage young people who have experienced out-of-home care to pursue or continue their education and career endeavours.
Eligibility
To be eligible students must be Australian citizen or permanent resident, have been (in the last five years) or currently in out-of-home care (includes formal kinship care), as defined by Department of Communities (to become Department of Education, Children and Young People); and be a current resident of Tasmania.
The scholarship is available to students undertaking undergraduate study in any Bachelor degree, or University Preparation Program, or Diploma of University Studies at the University of Tasmania in Semester 1, 2023.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award recipients are required to remain eligible to continue in their chosen course of study.
