Kenneth Douglas McConnell Memorial Scholarship

Kenneth McConnell was a Hobart-based psychiatrist killed in a rock climbing accident on Mt Wellington in January 2006. His father, the late Kennedy McConnell, endowed this bursary to support medical students with a passion for the outdoors.

 

Eligibility

Available to a student entering any of the final three years of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in Semester 1, 2023, and who has a passion for outdoor pursuits and an interest in psychiatry. The scholarship will support a student who: is eligible to undertake a rotation or elective in psychiatry in the MBBS course; can demonstrate an interest in psychiatry; and can demonstrate a strong interest in outdoor pursuits.

On-going Eligibility

To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
