The late Professor June Olley has made this scholarship available in memory of her aviator father, Gordon, who was one of the pioneers of British commercial aviation and reportedly the first person to fly one million miles.
Available to a current student enrolling in any undergraduate or postgraduate degree within any College or School in Semester 1, 2021, whose study program relates in some way to the aviation/aeronautics industry. For students enrolling in the final two years of Medicine or final year of Nursing, there may be an opportunity to spend four weeks with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (subject to a placement availability). In this case, the scholarship would be fully applied to this activity. Selection will be based on academic merit and financial need. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate a real interest in aviation.
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
Up to $6,000 to be spent on aviation related activities.
