Professor Bill Jackson was a highly respected leader, teacher and researcher in plant science in Tasmania for over 50 years. He endowed this scholarship, prior to his death in 2002, to ensure that outstanding students continue to work in plant science.
Eligibility
Available to a student commencing Honours in the Discipline of Biological Sciences in the area of plant science in Semester 1, 2023. Selection will be based on academic merit. Candidates should also be aware that some University-wide scholarships are applicable for projects in biological sciences – this can be discussed with the Biological Sciences honours co-ordinator: eloise.foo@utas.edu.au
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
Amount
$10,000. Interstate students relocating to Tasmania specifically to undertake Honours at the University will also receive a return airfare.
