City of Launceston has always actively assisted in the training of and creation of employment opportunities for engineering students. Up to 3 successful applicants will be offered 10 weeks paid vacation work at the end of year 2 of the Bachelor of Engineering, with one student being offered a cadetship on completion of this period.
Eligibility
Available to students entering third year engineering with a major in civil engineering. A compulsory component of the cadetship is paid vacation work at the end of 3rd year plus 12 months paid work on graduation. Permanent employment may be offered at the completion of the cadetship but is not guaranteed. Further information is available from the City of Launceston website at: www.launceston.tas.gov.au
The selection process for this scholarship may also involve an interview.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.

$12,000 first year, $15,000 second year, plus paid vacation work
