V Patasius and Dr Al Taskunas Lithuanian Studies Society Scholarship

V Patasius and Dr Al Taskunas Lithuanian Studies Society Scholarship

This scholarship is generously provided by funding from the Lithuanian Studies Society of Tasmania, as well as the late Mrs Ona Maksvytis of NSW who provided a gift for the purpose of funding a scholarship in the memory of the late Vytautas Jonas Patasius, a highly respected former member of the Lithuanian Community in Australia. The scholarship also recognises the substantial contribution of Dr Algimantas Patricijus Taskunas to the Tasmanian, Australian and global Lithuanian community. Dr Taskunas’s work over more than four decades in Tasmania included editing the Lithuanian Studies Society of Tasmania’s journal “Lithuanian Papers”, encouraging new academic research and the publication of hundreds of scholarly papers on all aspects of Lithuania.
