Up to 10 Honours scholarships will be provided by the College of Arts, Law and Education at the University of Tasmania each year.
Eligibility
Available to students who have completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Tasmania, or another Australian university, and who will be commencing one of the following degrees at the University of Tasmania in Semester 1, 2023:
- Bachelor of Arts with Honours
- Bachelor of Education with Honours
- Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours
- Bachelor of Justice Studies with Honours
- Bachelor of Media and Communication with Honours
- Bachelor of Music with Honours
Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:
a) results achieved at undergraduate level (typically a Distinction grade point average across the second and particularly the third year of study in the chosen discipline);
b) evidence of initiative, research skills and general aptitude of the applicant as provided by the referees;
c) evidence of research strength in line with the College's research capacity and strength as provided by the research proposal (for ideas see the advertised projects for Creative Arts and Media, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, (https://www.utas.edu.au/our-research/research-degrees/available-projects); and
d) availability of an appropriate supervisor and the capacity of the relevant School to provide support for the proposed project.
On-going Eligibility
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in Honours units studied each semester.
