Two scholarships have been endowed by the late Basil Griston in memory of his sister Joyce. Basil Griston was a champion for those less fortunate in the Tasmanian community and he gave significant support to the homeless and unemployed youth in Tasmania. The award is offered as part of the University of Tasmania Access Scholarship scheme.
Available to assist financially disadvantaged Tasmanians to study any undergraduate degree at the University of Tasmania. Selection is based on demonstration of financial need as well as evidence of academic ability. While these scholarships are available to both commencing and current students, priority will be given to students commencing in Semester 1, 2021.
To retain this award, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester.
$5,000 per year
Up to five years (not including Honours)
